Let's talk about MGO! The magic number (grade) tells you how bioactive the honey is. The higher the number, the stronger its antibacterial power.

Methylglyoxal (MGO) is the distinctive naturally occurring antibacterial compound in Mānuka honey. A higher MGO value indicates increased antibacterial activity and higher levels of other actives like DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), HMF (Hydroxymethylfurfural), and Leptosperin, beneficial compounds in Mānuka honey. In simple terms, the higher the MGO grade, the more potent the honey is.

This misconception has been spread over the years, but the truth is that honey crystallization is normal. In fact, genuine raw honey will crystallize due to glucose; bits of pollen in raw honey provide an excellent substrate to encourage crystallization.

To keep your Mānuka honey fresh, store it at room temperature—around 70°F to 80°F (not in the fridge) and away from direct sunlight to preserve its natural properties. If your honey crystallizes, you can fix it by placing the honey jar in a warm water bath (around 90°F to 95°F, but never hotter) for about 15 minutes or until the crystals dissolve. Because it is glass, you won’t have to worry about microplastic leaking into your honey. It's that simple!

Our Mānuka honey varies naturally, but we make sure it has a creamy texture through an old-fashioned process; it's all about creaming. We add some finely crystallized honey, called "seed honey," to liquid honey. Then, we stir it gently to make fine crystals throughout the honey, giving it that creamy feel. We don't use heat in this process. We keep our organic honey under 95ºF to keep all the good stuff in it, like its healthy properties.

Mānuka honey is more than a natural sweetener. It contains powerful nutrients and compounds that support your immune system and help heal your gut. It fights off viruses, reduces inflammation, and protects your body from damage caused by harmful substances called oxidants. Additionally, it is used to heal wounds, soothe sore throats, prevent tooth decay, and improve digestion. So, when you eat Mānuka honey, you're boosting your body to stay strong, healthy, and happy.

While local honey is just okay. If you want to give your body the best, Mānuka honey stands out because of its non-peroxide antibacterial activity, quality, and exclusive origin (New Zealand).
